Round 1 vs Mermails 2-0

Game 1: This game was a grind game because both of us were just trading resources. At one point, my opponent made a field of Abyss Dweller, Mermail Abyssgaios and Vanity’s Emptiness. However, I was lucky enough to draw my Shaddoll Squamata and Shaddoll Dragon so that I had a way to deal with that strong field. I eventually drew a Shaddoll Fusion after 35 mins of grinding, and managed to win in 5 mins.

Game 1: My opponent drew bad, and didn’t draw enough monster for him to dominate the game.

Game 2: I won the game by simply activating Vanity’s Emptiness.

Round 3 vs Artifact Satellerknights 2-0

Game 1: I figured that he was playing the Artifact version during the mid game. I completed changed my strategy because I needed to be careful with my back row removal cards. I drew my first Shaddoll Fusion after 20 mins, and won from there.

Game 2: Same as game 1, I didn’t open any fusion spell cards. I won the game after drawing them.

Round 4 vs Chaos Shaddoll 2-0

Game 1: My opponent went second and set an Ice Hand and backrows. I summoned Mathematician and then special summoned Felis, Lightsworn Archer to get rid of the set, which was found to be an Ice Hand. I was really surprised. The next turn, he tried to OTK with Denko Sekka, however, he hit my set Artifact Moralltach using Shaddoll Dragon, So I won the next turn by activating Shaddoll Fusion.

Game 2: My opponent summoned Denko Sekka, and then made a fusion play. However, since he didn’t use the effect of Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning to banish my set Falco, I stopped the OTK by using Falco’s effect to summon Squamata. I won the next turn by activating Shaddoll Fusion.

Round 5 vs Qliphort 2-0

Game 1: I went first, and had Double Cyclone, Artifact Moralltach and Compulsory Evacuation Device. My opponent went Qliphort Scout, I said OK. After he normal summoned a monster, I activated Double Cyclone on Artifact Moralltach and Qliphort Scout. By poping Qliphort Scout and the Qli monster, I OTKed him the next turn.

Game 2: He paid 1000 for Skill Drain, 2000 for Solemn Warning, and 800 for Scout. I OTKed him afterwords.

Round 6 vs Burning Abyss 2-0

Game 1: My opponent had 2 sets, and 2 Dante, Traveler of the Burning Abyss (couldn’t remember if this is true). I used my MST and Artifact Ignition on those 2 sets, and then Shaddoll Fusion. I won the game shortly.

Game 2: He successfully resolved a Fire Lake of the burning abyss, and summoned a Fiend afterwords. However, I had Breakthrough Skill in then grave. After baiting out the back rows he had using El Shaddoll Fusion, I summoned BLS and won.

Round 7 vs Burning Abyss 2-1

Game 1: I went first and opened 2 MST, 1 Double Cyclone, 1 Artifact Moralltach and El Shaddoll Fusion. If my opponent was playing Qliphorts, I won. However, it’s the opposite.

Game 2: Can’t remember much, but Shadoll Fusion won me the game.

Game 3: Can’t remember much, but Shadoll Fusion won me the game.

Round 8 vs Shaddoll Artifact 2-0

Game 1: Can’t remember much, but I played the game aggressively because this is the key in the mirror match.

Game 2: I dropped 7800 damage in the 3rd turn. After grinding, we went into time, the LP was 8000-200.

Round 9 vs Burning Abyss 2-0

Game 1: I had El Shaddoll Fusion and 2 Shaddoll Fusion. I set 1 ESF, 1 SF, and 1 Shaddoll Hedgehog. He used Night Beam and MST on my sets, and then summoned Virgil, Rock Star of the Burning Abyss to bounce back my Hedgehog. I won the game by resolving SF and summoning Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning.

Game 2: He let me go first. So I made El Shaddoll Winda, along with a set Falco and Breakthrough Skill and MST. He couldn’t do much and I won the game shortly.

After 9 rounds of playing, I went 9-0 and got 1st after Swiss and I was locked in the top 32.

Round 10 vs Qliphorts

I gave my opponent the win, so that I had time to practice for Battle Pack 3 draft.

Round 11 vs Shaddolls

I gave my opponent the win, so that I had time to practice for Battle Pack 3 draft.

Top 32 vs Burning Abyss 2-1

Feature Match: Not yet posted.

Game 1: I won the game by resolving SF and summoning BLS.

Game 2: My hand was bad, and I found in the middle of the game that I had nothing to keep me in the game, same as my opponent. I didn’t scoop the game because there’s a chance that I would draw SF/ESF. However, I just couldn’t see any.

Game 3: It was in time, we only had 3 turns in total. I went first and set Sinister Shadow games, MST, ESF, Breakthrough Skill. His turn, when he tried to go off, I made El Shaddoll Winda to stop that. Although he made a Vanity’s Fiend, I won because I had BTS.

Top 16 Draft, featured

I have 2 strategies: the first one is around Call of the Atlantean because I had a few good lv 3 monsters such as Card Trooper, The Immortal Bushi and Airorca; the second one is Forgotten Temple of the Deep and Sacred Crane.

Game 1: It was back and forth. I was winning at one point, but my opponent was lucky enough to build a wall from losing damage. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a way to deal with it in 40 mins so I lost the match. In order to win the match, I should have scoop the game earlier so that I’d have a chance to play game 2 and 3.

Some key decisions in the deck:

1. No Artifact Beagaltach but 2 Artifact Ignitions: Most games end in 5 turns, if playing against the meta decks. This is the main reason that I cut Beagaltach. You don’t really need to have that many resources for your cards to function. The games would most likely be over after resolving one or two. So it is completed ok to just run 3 Artifact Moralltach. Same idea as 2 Moral, but 3 Sanctum.

2. Ignition + Double Cyclone: Ignition is almost the same as MST, but better, for most of the time. Ignition gives a plus one, which is huge if you have DC. This combo generates a plus-2 play. In addition, even if you run out of Moral, you can simply set Ignition and wait for your opponent to destroy it.

3. Lyla: Lyla is one of the best cards against Qli and BA. Against, you can always get a chance to potentially hit their Vanity’s Emptiness. You can use the effect to destroy Scout and Saqliface as always. Against BA, what you want to do is to try bait out cards like Fire Lake, Karma Cut, and Wind Blast. It’s never bad to have back row removal against these 2 decks. In addition, Lyla stays on the field after resolving the effect. This is really important because you can excavate 2 cards at the end phase, or use it as a fusion material. Being a Light monster definitely helps to OTK because of Shaddoll Construct.

4. No Vanity’s Emptiness: I only needed against the mirror. It is really bad against Qli and BA, if you are going second.
