The second stop on the YCS circuit for the March 2013 Format took place in San Diego, California, United States through April 5-7, 2013. YCS San Diego featured nine rounds of sealed play on Day 1, followed by 5 rounds of constructed play and a Top 32 cut on Day 2. There were 1,523 competitors during Day 1 and 158 during Day 2. Mermail continued to steam roll through the first half of this format as predicted and Dino Rabbit saw an increase due solely to the fact that it can Main Deck “Macro Cosmos” and act as a defensive counter. Mermail only made up 11 slots of the top cut, which is down from its 15 slots in Austin. However, considering there were only 158 competitors in the constructed portion of this event, I wouldn’t pay a lot of attention to the drop. This is still very much a Mermail format.
