The first constructed stop on the YCS circuit for the March 2013 Format took place in Austin, Texas, United States throughout March 22-24, 2013. There were 1366 competitors in the main event. Official coverage from the event can be found here.

Mermail took up 15/32 seats in the playoff and have emerged as the absolute front-runner for the format. This is by a margin which Wind-Ups could have even dreamed of last format. The remaining 17 slots we made up of a who’s who of decks struggling to find ground in the new format. However, after the results of this weekend, it is unlikely they will. We anticipate this trend of Mermail dominance to grow steadily into the early Weeks of the 2013 World Qualifiers, where it will finally peak and the format will see a large shift with the release of Lord of the Tachyon Galaxy.

The Top 32 broke down as follows:

  • 15 MERMAIL
  • 5 FIRE FIST
  • 3 HERO
  • 3 RABBIT
  • 2 GEARGIA
  • 2 KARAKURI
  • 1 FROG MONARCH
  • 1 WIND-UP
