Top Cut Meta Analysis
Wind-Up may have won the event, but it, along with Agents, were the biggest losers at this event. The real winners in Miami were Mermail and Dark World. This opinion, of course, comes from the perspective of format progression. The changes from YCS Barcelona to YCS Miami are listed below:

  • MERMAIL, +9.38%
  • DARK WORLD, +6.25%
  • HERO, +3.13%
  • KARAKURI, +3.13%
  • HIERATIC, +3.13%
  • FIRE FIST, +3.13%
  • RABBIT, +/- 0.00%
  • CHAIN BURN, -3.13%
  • WIND-UP -6.25%
  • AGENT -12.50%

The Cosmo Blazer Booster and the Onslaught of the Fire Kings Structure Deck caused a lot of uncertainty heading into the weekend, but both Fire Fist and Fire King had a very lackluster debut. We also saw a lot of one-of’s in this Top Cut, but as one-of’s, it is difficult to anticipate many players investing into them. Moving forward, the metagame anticipated for YCS Bochum and YCS Chile will be very centralized around Wind-Up and Mermail, as both decks continue their power struggle to close out the format.
