Fortunately, for the competitors at the 2004 World Championship, Yata-Garasu had to stay home. Unfortunately, for competitors, a lot of other busted cards did not. Long before cards like Black Rose Dragon knew how to blow up the whole board, Chaos Emperor Dragon ruled the world.

Chaos was the first deck to really push the concept of Boss monsters. The only other deck capable of such a feat at the time would have been Zombies, but Vampire Lord and Ryu Kokki pale in comparison to the power of the Chaos Envoys. Even Chaos Sorcerer, which was at 3, stayed home for this go around (Perhaps an oversight, given that Chaos Recruiter was possible, but was not yet pioneered by Madaj).

Our very own Rodrigo Togores was a competitor at this event as well, although a much less magical and short-haired version of the Spanard. As you can guess, he was unsuccessful in making the Top Cut, maining beatdown and playing the best cards of the format in his board.
