Nearing to the end there were only four cards that where semi limited: The first two are Mezuki and Plaguespreader Zombie; this is a smart move from Konami to push the new coming Zombie archetype. It also open the door for crazy Lightsworn decks which can mill those cards for free and abuse them but in the current time there’s Maxx “C” which will punish extern Special Summons. It not like formats ago where you could careless summon until you had an unbreakable board.

The next card is Fire Formation – Tenki. This takes a little bit consistency from the Fire Fist theme which can make a plus three in card advantage really easy if you get the right cards. It weakens the deck a little bit but I can promise you, that Fire Fist is a really good deck in the upcoming format.

Dimensional Prison was another staple like card. There was always the discussion if you should play Mirror Force or Dimensional Prison to either punish overextensions or remove threats like Stardust Dragon or Wind-Up Zenmaines. It looks like nowadays we will have only a limited access to our back row staples.

Finally there are a lot of cards taken out from the list with three of them being here cause of the prohibition of Elemental Hero Stratos and they are: Destiny Hero – Malicious, A Hero Lives and E- Emergency call. These three cards were very strong thanks to Stratos but now without him they are less powerful. The targets for E – Emergency Call or A Hero Lives won’t end into card advantage and Destiny Hero – Malicious won’t be as easy to search as times before. It will be interesting if we will see a high usage of Malicious or not because this card still has a lot of potential even with Maxx “C” around.

Then since agents were disappeared for a long time, The Agent of Mystery – Earth is back to give your Perfect Herald and Hyperion decks a big boost in consistency. The same goes for Blackwing getting back their beloved Black Whirlwind and Hieratic their Hieratic Seal of Convocation. It will be interesting to see those decks back at the big tables and I think that Blackwing has a very good chance doing so because of Number 66: Master Key Beetle who is easy to summon with the help of Black Whirlwind. Blackwing is also a deck which can run a lot of strong anti cards without hurting the own deck and Key Beetle can help to protect those.

Finally some good cards are back because Konami decided that the format is fast now and this cards won’t be a problem there. Pot of Duality will be the heaven for any anti-meta oriented deck player, Scapegoat along with tuners, Cyber Valley or Destiny Hero – Plasma and Tsukuyomi a card which was only used in the past format to put a few problem monsters like Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer, Thunder King Rai-Oh, Evilswarm Ophion and Jowgen the Spiritualist face down. Those cards weren’t broken and most time format dependent.
