If we look at the limited cards then most of the changes make tier-2 weaker by taking away consistency cards but not unplayable. The Mermail deck, which was the tier-1 deck before Spellbook of Judgment and Dragon Ruler were released, is now touched by limiting Atlantean Dragoons and Deep Sea Diva.

The limitation of Atlantean Dragoons limits the access to Moulinglacia the Elemental Lord or Mermail Abyssmegalo and also reduces the power of Atlantean Marksman. I think Dewloren got limited because of the new card Fishborg Archer that allows powerful combos in Fish FTK. It’s a card that can generate loops and normally such cards will be limited until the loop isn’t possible anymore.

Also lots of other cards are touched for the same reasons like: Brotherhood of the Fire Fist – Spirit, Genex Ally Birdman, Rescue Rabbit, Evigishki Mind Angus, Constellar Ptolemy M7, Gold Sarcophagus and Royal Tribute. Weaken the deck but keep it playable!

Then we have a group of cards which are restricted so that back rows and anti-cards won’t be too powerful with Heavy Storm gone. Some of those cards shut complete decks or strategies down and this limits the deck variety. Here are cards like Thunder King Rai-Oh, Dimensional Fissure, Bottomless Trap Hole, Compulsory Evacuation Device, Eradicator Epidemic Virus, Macro Cosmos, Soul Drain and Torrential Tribute. Now you need to play some theme trap cards because you won’t find enough good trap cards which fit your deck.
