Round Two: Spaniard w/ BUJIN (2-0)

Game 1: I won the Dice roll and opened up with Bahamut Shark and Mermail Abysstrite with Mermail Abysslinde in the Grave, Bottomless Trap Hole and Abyss-sphere facedown. My Opponent summons Bujin Arasuda and then Special summons Bujingi Quilin through Photon Lead and XYZ-summons Bujintei Susanowo, I banish it and win from there on.

• Sided In: 2 Dust Tornado, Dark Hole, Skill Drain, Mystical Space Typhoon, Debunk and Dimensional Prison.
• Sided Out: Mermail Abyssmegalo, Mermail Abyssteus, Atlantean Marksman, Deep Sea Diva, Trap Stun, Abyss-squall and Breakthrough Skill.

Game 2: He started with Bujin Yamato and 2 set cards, put Bujingi Turtle to the Graveyard and ended. I started with a Mystical Space Typhoon on his Horn of the Phantom Beast followed by a Mermail Abyssmegalo via Marksman and Infantry, hit his face-down Black Horn of Heaven, got his turtle to exiled searched for Abyss-sphere, summoned Mermail Abysslinde rammed it into his Yamato got the Abyssleed, ran with Megalo into Bujingi Crane and killed it off with Mermail Abyssleed.

After setting Sphere and the second Mystical, he tried to Tenki for a second Yamato but his plan was foiled by my Mystical, so he had to pass without further plays, I activated Sphere at the end of his Main Phase, got another megalo, hit with Leed and Megalo before summoning Mecha Phantom Beast Dracossack and setting Dust Tornado. After drawing for his turn my opponent scoops up his cards.

Round Three: Spaniard w/ LIGHT XYZ (2-0)

I can’t remember these games well, except for that he played Cyber Dragon and Ghost Ship as well as Solar Wind Jammer to make Constellar Pleiades, but I won really quickly both Games.

Round Four: Miguel Martinez w/ CONSTELLAR (2-0)

• Sided: in: 2 Dust Tornado, Skill Drain, Dimensional Prison, Mystical Space Typhoon, Dark Hole.
• Sided out: Mermail Abyssmegalo, Mermail Abyssteus, Mermail Abyssgunde, Deep Sea Diva, Breakthrough Skill and Abyss-squall.

There was a much appreciated Lunch Break and after about 1 and a half hours the last 3 rounds of Day 1started. Claudio was 2-2 and Rodrigo also had yet to lose a Match.

Round Five – Seven: Geargia, Geargia, Geargia (2-1) [Editor’s Note: Versace, Versace, Versace, Versace]

I cannot remember these Matches at all, but all of them revolved around resource management, advantage and them having the Geargiarmor and me having or getting to the marksman, I wished I had one in the Sideboard.

I sided all of them the same:

• Sided In: 3 Maxx “C”, 2 Tragoedia, Mystical Space Typhoon, Dark Hole, Dust Tornado, Skill Drain.
• Sided Out: Mermail Abyssmegalo, Mermail Abyssteus, Mermail Abysspike, Mermail Abyssgunde, Deep Sea Diva, Atlantean Heavy Infantry, Breakthrough Skill, Abyss-squall and Trap Stun as I was afraid of Dimensional Fissure and Soul Drain.

I ended Day 1 with a perfect 7-0 record, Claudio was out with 4-3 record, and Rodrigo also topped with a 5-2 record. In the evening, we went out for a great dinner and also to drink a little bit. Rodrigo and I went home at 3AM, whereas Claudio was out all night and did not show up to Day 2 until 2PM.
