If this card is Link Summoned: You can add 1 Pendulum Monster from your Deck to your Extra Deck face-up. Once per turn: You can target 1 other face-up card you control; destroy it, then add 1 face-up Pendulum Monster from your Extra Deck to your hand. If a card(s) in your Pendulum Zone leaves the field: Draw 1 card. You can only use this effect of “Heavymetalfoes Electrumite” once per turn.

Hello guys, as many of you know this weekend there will be the “Extreme Force” sneak peak events and with it the most wanted card for pendulum players “Heavymetalfes Electrumite”, will be released in the TCG. But why is everyone looking forward to this new link monster?

Well there are many reasons that we are going to analyze:

• It’s a generic link 2 Monster for pendulum, so every pendulum deck can use this in their extra deck
• It opens up a vast number of plays: The first ability of Electrumite let’s add 1 pendulum monster from your deck to your extra deck face-up when he is link summoned but that’s not it, his second effect let’s you destroy a face-up card you control and add 1 face-up pendulum monster from your extra deck to your hand! So you can use the first effect to put any pendulum monster you need in your extra deck faceup and then just add it back with the second effect! But there is even more, once per turn when a scale in your pendulum zone is destroyed you draw 1 card.
• The arrow the link points to (bottom left, bottom right): Since the new link mechanics the problem with pendulum based decks was that they only have 1 slot to summon to from the extra deck, so they couldn’t abuse the infinite resources pendulum monsters provide as much as they used to be able to, by pendulum summoning 1-5 monster from the extra deck. But with “Heavymetalfoes Electrumite“ you have 2 slots to pendulum summon to from the extra deck, leading to more plays and more resources.

With these things said, Pendulum Magician will surely be the deck that takes the biggest advantage of this new card for now, there are many  cards in the deck that work perfectly with the link monster such as:

• Astrograph Sorcerer
• Double Iris Magician
• Purple Poison Magician
• Black Fang Magician

All these listed cards combine really well with the link because the bottom 3 listed cards trigger their effect when they are destroyed and Astrograph Sorcerer special summons himself when a card is destroyed and adds a card with the same name as a card that was destroyed that turn from your deck to your hand.

So just imagine this scenario: link summon Electrumite, add Astrograph Sorcerer to the extra deck, use Electrumite to destroy a face up scale and add Astrograph to your hand so at the resoluton of the link effect,  Astograph will trigger special summoning himself and adding a copy of any card you destroyed that turn from your deck to your hand so you can continue your plays. This play alone makes for great versatility and a huge card advantage and Pendulum Magicians have quite a few other nasty tricks up their sleeves.
